    A witness signature can be useful for evidence purposes. For most of the contracts, only the parties entering into the contract need to sign, but there are some exceptions. For example, the contract itself requires the witnesses to sign; under Wills Act 1953, a will should have two witnesses and neither witness should be named in the will.
